Edric Lathey was born in Farnham, Surrey in January 1915 and enlisted in the Royal Air Force in September 1930. His subsequent mention in despatches is believed to have been for his services at R.A.F. Cranwell's wireless school. He died in Merton, Surrey in June 1991.
