Belgium, Croix de Guerre London Gazette 20 March 1947.
Immediately after the forcing of the ALBERT CANAL, the Regimental transport was harboured in the neighbourhood of BERRINGEN. At first light one morning the harbour was attacked by a large number of German Infantry. L/Sjt Wrigley was in Command of one of the Stuart Tanks whose role it was to protect the soft vehicles. Without a moment's hesitation he collected his crew together, and with two other Stuart Tanks, engaged the enemy from a flank, inflicting a number of casualties. The fact that the Germans were compelled to withdraw after having caused very few casualties among our own troops was largely due to the very great alertness, courage and initiative of L/Sjt WRIGLEY, who also showed himself to be a most resourceful and gallant man on many other occasions during the North West European Campaign.
Sold together with his metal identity disk numbered '7937304'.
