Arthur Edward Milam served with the 1st Battalion Royal Berkshire Regiment during the Great War, he briefly transferred to the 2nd Battalion before reverting to the 1st Battalion where he was serving in Mesopotamia. He was transferred to the Reserve on 9 May 1922.

Second Class Certificate of Education, dated 28 February 1921.

Character Certificate dated 9 May 1922.
