Edward Albert Nye was born at Brighton, Sussex on 5 December 1864. In the 1911 census he is recorded as a collector living in Brighton with his wife and 8 children. He had previously enlisted in the Oxfordshire Light Infantry in 1883, his service papers which are available online confirm that he didn't have any overseas service. Extraordinarily he enlisted for service again in the Great War and served variously in the 15/Essex Regiment, 14/Leicestershire Regiment and 13/ Royal Sussex Regiment during the Great War. Edward died at Brighton in January 1944.
