Lewis Richard Lewis entered the war in France on 15 November 1915 serving with the 24th (2nd Sportsman's) Battalion of the Royal Fusiliers. He married Dorothy Mary Bambridge at Andover on 10 April 1916. He also served as 36805 with the Bedfordshire Regiment. He transferred to the Royal Air Force after the Great War.
