Harry Dunn was born at Marylebone, London on 31 December 1891 and was previously a Boot Shop Porter before he joined the Royal Navy on 8 August 1912 as a Stoker 2nd Class. He served on Indomitable between 13 April 1914 - 4 February 1919 where she saw action at both Dogger Bank and Jutland, during this time he was promoted to Leading Stoker. He was awarded his L.S. & G.C. Medal in 1927 and was promoted to Stoker Petty Officer on 15 April 1928. Dunn was demobilised on 1 October 1938. With the outbreak of the Second World War, he joined Pembroke on 16 September 1940 before serving on Rooke between 6-22 February 1941 and then on Beaver from 23 February 1941 - 6 September 1941 and then on Prosperine from 7 September 1941. He was released in Class 'A' on 21 August 1945.
