William Henry Lichfield was the son of John and Elizabeth Lichfield. He was born at Birmingham and enlisted at Lichfield, Staffordshire and first served overseas on 12 August 1914 with the 2nd Battalion. He died of wounds on 10 August 1916 and is buried in the La Neuville British Cemetery, Corbie. He was entitled to a 1914 Star trio but according to his Medal Index Card, the British War and Victory Medal Pair were returned.
