George Warsop Griffiths Booker was born at Firle, Sussex on 20 October 1873. He was a road and quarry engineer prior to enlistment and was appointed a Lieutenant into the Canadian Engineers on 29 February 1916. He entered the war in France on 26 October 1916 and was attached to the 1st Army Troops Company. Promoted to Temporary Captain on 24 May 1918. Booker returned to England on 4 March 1919 and retired from the service on 21 August 1919. He lived at 41 Talgarth Road, West Kensington, London W14.
