George William Legg was born at Upton Park, Essex in April 1905, the son of Henry and Alice Patten. Moving to London in his youth he appears upon a City Directory in 1925 aged 20 and presumably enlisted not long afterwards. Serving in Burma with 1st Battalion, The Buffs he died early the next year in January 1933 at West Ham. Legg's mother Alice appears upon his pension documents and his medal was issued to his father on 22 May 1936; sold together with copied research.
