(x) Queen's South Africa 1899-1902, 1 clasp, Natal (3953. Pte. R. J. Green. 5/Lcrs.), nearly extremely fine

Robert John Green was born in 1873 in Staines, Middlesex and worked as a groom before he enlisted into the 5th (Royal Irish) Lancers on 8 September 1891. He served at Home until January 1893 and was then posted to India, serving between January 1893 - March 1898. He was then served in South Africa between March 1898 - June 1899. Upon coming home, Green transferred to the Army Reserve, first on 13 June 1899 and secondly on 22 May 1903. In February 1900, he was once again posted to South Africa until May 1902 before finishing his military career at home on 7 September 1903.

He was further entitled to the King's South Africa Medal with both clasps.
