India General Service 1895-1908, 2 clasps, Punjab Frontier 1897-98, Relief of Chitral 1895 (1709 Pte G. Milgate 1st Bn East Kent Regt), clasps mounted in that order, lugs removed from second clasp, light contact marks, very fine

Charles Milgate enlisted into the East Kent Regiment at Canterbury on 20 April 1885, he had previously been a baker. He served at Home from 20 April 1885 - 28 December 1885 before serving in Egypt between 29 December 1885 - 28 April 1886. Milgate then returned Home from 29 April 1886 - 21 February 1887, he then began his service in India serving there from 22 February 1887 - 1 April 1895 before serving at Chitral from 2 April 1895 - 18 September 1895 from there he was noted as serving in India from 19 September 1895 - 4 August 1897 and then to the North West Frontier between 5 August 1897 - 3 October 1898. He returned to India on 4 October 1898 - 15 February 1901 and then served in Burma between 16 February 1901 - 10 December 1902 before finally returning Home on 11 December 1902. He was discharged at Canterbury on 19 April 1906. He is further entitled to an L.S. & G.C. medal ref: Army Order No.90 1906.
