Egypt and Sudan 1882-89, dated reverse, no clasp (2191. Pte. W. Francis. 4th Dn. Gds.), good very fine

William Francis was born at Wantage circa 1860 and by 1881 was with the 4th Dragoon Guards at Aldershot by 1881. Having served with the unit during the Egypt and Sudan campaign, Francis was listed as 'Dead' upon the roll.
