An unusual Army L.S. & G.C. awarded to Sergeant Instructor Class I A. H. Tee, Upper Burma Volunteer Rifles, an Anglo-Boer War veteran who joined the volunteers upon the conclusion of his service

Albert Henry Tee was born at Poona, Bombay in 1877, the son of Sergeant Frederick Tee, East Yorkshire Regiment. He attested at Manchester on 3 June 1891 with the rank of Boy and was appointed Drummer two weeks later. Appointed Private upon reaching his majority on 15 October 1895 he was promoted Corporal the next year and Lance Sergeant on 3 February 1899.
Posted to South Africa on 14 March 1900 he was further advanced Sergeant the next year on 17 January 1901. He earned a Queen's South Africa Medal with clasps for Wittebergen, Cape Colony and Transvaal and a King's South Africa Medal with both clasps.
Returning to Britain in 1903 he passed a course as an instructor in physical training there before being posted to India in 1905. There Tee was transferred to the unattached list as 2nd class Instructor for the Calcutta Volunteer Rifles on 26 November 1906. Passing an additional course as Instructor of Gymnastics in 1907 he was awarded his L.S. & G.C. in Indian Army Order 500 of 1909 while serving with the Upper Burma Volunteer Rifles.
Appointed Acting Sergeant-Major on 12 January 1911 he was finally discharged on 7 November 1913 at Gosport having seen his service extended in 1912. Settling in Wood Green, London Tee died there in 1953; sold together with copied paperwork.
