Medal of the O.B.E. Edinburgh Gazette 20 January 1919:

'For courage and devotion to duty while working on poison gas under circumstances of grave personal danger.'

Sold together with the following archive:

i)
A letter signed 'Beauchamp' of Madresfield Court, Malvern, dated 22 May 1920, who presented the medal to Whitnall acting in the capacity of H.M. the King.

Earl Beauchamp was the Lord Lieutenant and presented medals to various recipients on 8 April 1919.

ii)
A newspaper cutting relating to the medal presentation confirming the award to Frank Whitnall of 17 Devonshire Road, Westbury Park, Bristol.
