A 1948 M.B.E. pair awarded to Mr W. C. Timmis, a Member of the Cheshire War Agricultural Executive Committee, Justice of the Peace and Observer Corps

The Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, 2nd Type, Civil Division, Member's (M.B.E.) breast Badge, silver, in its Royal Mint case of issue and forwarding letter in the name of 'Weston C. Timmis, Esq., M.B.E., J.P.'; Defence Medal 1939-45, good very fine (2)

M.B.E. London Gazette 4 June 1948 (Member, Cheshire War Agricultural Executive Committee).

Weston Clarence Timmis was born on 17 August 1874 at Nantwich, Cheshire and was educated at Audlem School. By 1901 he was noted as a Game Keeper and Dog Trainer and by 1911 was a Greyhound Trainer. Appointed a Justice of the Peace for Cheshire in 1925, two of his brothers emigrated to the United States.

At the outbreak of the Second World War, Timmis was a gamekeeper and also a member of the Observer Corps and was a Member of the Cheshire War Agricultural Executive Committee. Having taken his M.B.E., he died at Little Heath, Audlem (in the house he had lived his whole life) on 29 November 1955.
