The well-documented campaign pair awarded to Captain J. H. Moore, Royal Engineers, who took the 1937 Coronation Medal as a Westminster School Chorister in the Triforium of Westminster Abbey

General Service 1918-62, 1 clasp, Cyprus (Capt. J. H. Moore. R.E.); Coronation 1937 (J. H. Moore. 117 Midland Rd. Beford), privately impressed naming, mounted court-style as worn, good very fine and an unusual combination (2)

John Hindhaugh Moore was a descendant of the legendary Sir John Moore of Corunna fame and was educated at Westminster School. He took his place on duty - besides a Coronation Medal - in the Triforium of Westminster Abbey for the Coronation of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth on 12 May 1937 (Roll confirms).

He then went up to the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst in 1947, sharing in the Passing Out Parade taken by HM The King in July 1948, before his own Passing Out Parade taken by General Sir James Steele in October 1948. Moore was commissioned 2nd Lieutenant in the Royal Engineers in November 1948. Having seen active service in Cyprus, he was posted variously to Germany, present for the visit of The Princess Margaret to 11th Armoured Division in July 1954. Retired Captain in December 1961, he attended 8th Railway Squadron Royal Engineers Beating Retreat at Longmoor Camp in July 1965 and died at Redhill, Surrey in June 2008.

Various relevant programmes, passes and documents, besides maps of Germany and RESTRICTED annotated notes on the 280mm US Army Gun, with photos affixed.

His car pennant, Officer's cap and 1952 No. 9 Battledress trousers.

Armed Forces Veteran Badges (2), together with various cap Badges.
