A Second World War group of four awarded to Staff Sergeant R. H. Frost, South African Native Military Corps who was wounded in the battle area in Rome on 23 December 1944

Reginald Harry Frost was born at London, England on 4 September 1901 and at the time of the Second World War was a tourist clerk living in Durban, South Africa. He served with No.1 M.T. Coy Durban on a part-time basis and attested for full time service on 2 March 1942 at Welgedacht and was posted to the N.M.T.T.C. at Spaarwater.

Frost served in Egypt between 19 March 1944 - November 1944 and in Italy between 6 December 1944 - 12 January 1945. During this period, he was injured in the battle area whilst on duty in Rome on 23 December 1944 and was consequently evacuated to No.2 British General Hospital the following day. He was discharged on 1 January 1945 and was evacuated to the M.E.F. by sea on 7 January 1945. He returned to Egypt serving between February 1945 - 28 November 1945. Frost was discharged at Durban on 16 November 1946.
