Frederick George Kemp, who was born in November 1912 and was a stockbroker's clerk by trade, was originally commissioned into 9th Gurkha Rifles in April 1941. He transferred into the Royal Berkshire Regiment and was promoted to Captain on 19 October 1946. Kemp transferred to the Royal Army Pay Corps on 17 July 1956 and was promoted to Lieutenant-Colonel and Staff Paymaster 1st Class on 3 April 1966, he retired on 11 November 1969. Kemp died at Colchester in August 1984.
