(x) Four: Regimental Sergeant-Major D. Webb, Hampshire & Isle of Wight Army Cadet Force, late King's Own Yorkshire Light Infantry
1939-1945 Star; France and Germany Star; War Medal 1939-45; Cadet Forces Medal, E.II.R., with two Additional Service Bars (D. Webb. ACF.), mounted court-style as worn, very fine (4)
Derek Webb was born circa 1923 and served sometime with the 8 Platoon, 'C' Company, King's Own Yorkshire Light Infantry (No. 14440489). His Second World War service is confirmed in the periods 21 October 1943-18 September 1944, 22 November 1944-8 May 1945 and 27 June 1945-2 September 1945, whilst an MOD letter dated 16 October 1956 confirms he did not earn the Defence Medal 1939-45.
Whilst the unit stated for his awards are given as the King's Own Yorkshire Light Infantry, they did not serve in the North-West Europe campaign, thus he must have been attached elsewhere, it being presumed he was with the 11th Armoured Division.
He took his Cadet Forces Medal on 12 May 1965, with the Bars being added on 10 May 1974 & 30 March 1981, for his services to the Hampshire & Isle of Wight Cadet Force.
