Treglown), mounted court-style for wear, sometime silvered, light contact marks, very fine overall (7)

John Owen Philip Treglown was born at West Thebarton, South Australia on 26 September 1899 and enlisted on 3 February 1917. Embarking at Sydney on 16 July 1917 he served in Britain until entering the war on 6 June 1918. Spending much of June and July in hospital he returned to the Regiment in August and served with them until the end of the war.

Again hospitalised this time with severe influenza in March 1919 he was lucky to survive and returned to Australia in May 1919, being discharged almost immediately upon his return. Enlisting at West Thebarton, South Australia on 16 April 1941 with the Militia he transferred to the Royal Australian Engineers.

Posted to Britain, disembarking at Liverpool with the 2/3rd Forestry Company on 4 June 1941. Before returning to Australia on 4 November 1943 and re-embarked for the Pacific on 22 May 1944 where he was to service until the end of the war. Returned to Australia on Landing Ship Tank 160 on 15 November 1945 he was again swiftly demobilised sold together with copied service papers.
