John Isaac May served in Kamerun (Cameroon) on 4 August 1915 with the Royal Garrison Artillery. He served as a Gunner before subsequently transferring to the 12th Battalion, Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire Regiment where he worked as a Private. In Kamerun he was discharged due to 'sickness' on 3 July 1917. For his war service, he was further entitled to the 1914-15 Star and Silver War Badge.
George Hutchings enlisted into the Army Service Corps on 23 October 1914 and served on the Western Front from 30 October 1914 for 7 months before he was discharged on 8 May 1915 because he was deemed no longer fit for active service due to sickness. Hutchings was also entitled to the British War Medal and Silver War Badge.
