Daniel Clear was born in Borough, London and enlisted with the Shropshire Light Infantry at Holborn and served with the 7th Battalion in the Great War. Stationed overseas in France and Flanders, he was killed in action on 2 September 1918. Clear was buried at the Vis-en-Artois Cemetery in France, and his pension was claimed by his mother and father; sold together with copied research.

James Clarke served as a Private in the Herefordshire Regiment during the Great War. This pair represents his sole entitlement; sold together with copied medal roll and M.I.C..l
