Arthur Ingram White, a native of Hereford attested for the Royal Fusiliers on 7 June 1915, he entered the war in France on 14 November 1915 with this unit. Transferred back to Britain as a candidate for commission in April 1917, he was commissioned 2nd Lieutenant on 31 October 1917 and posted to the Shropshire Regiment.
He was stationed with them when the German Spring Offensive rolled into the Allied line in March 1918. The Battalion was ordered to try and hold back the German advance which they successfully did for some time however White was seriously wounded. He died of his injuries on 23 March 1918 and was buried at Grevillers British Cemetery.
Further entitled to the 1914-15 Star, named to the recipient as a Private with the service number GS/7727.
