Douglas William Wills-Sinclair was born on 23 August 1891 at Holloway, London the son of Charles John Sinclair. Like his father he qualified as a chartered accountant and with the advent of the Great War was commissioned in the Army Pay Department serving in France and later Salonika where he was mentioned in despatches, (London Gazette 6 December 1916 refers). He transferred to the Royal Air Force on 1 April 1918 where he remained until the end of the war.
His business career before the war had taken to him to the West Indies and later the Straits Settlements where he was employed by the Penang Fire Assurance Association.
His only child Basil Geoffrey Wills-Sinclair who had enlisted in the Rifle Brigade was acting as a stretcher bearer and medical orderly when he was killed while bringing in a wounded officer during the attack on Tunis on 27 April 1943.
Douglas died at home in England in 1948.
