Charles George Davies was born at Soudley, Newnham, Gloucestershire and was a collier. He first entered the war on 7 November 1914 and served with the 1/2nd Monmouthshire Regiment. Davies suffered gas poisoning on 18 September 1916 whilst serving with the 2nd Battalion, despite this poisoning he was able to return to duty on 28 September 1916. He is entitled to a 1914 Star Trio.
