East and West Africa 1887-1900, 1 clasp, Benin 1897 (L. G. Legg, Sto., H.M.S. Alecto.), very fine

Leonard George Legg was born on 2 November 1872 at Canterbury and was a fireman by trade upon his joining the Royal Navy on 6 May 1893. Discharged from the Royal Navy in May 1905, time expired, he returned to the fold during the Great War.

Legg served with The Queen's (Royal West Surrey) Regiment (No. 243275) and East Surrey Regiment (No. 1393 & 242769) and is further entitled to a Great War Pair, Territorial Force War Medal 1914-19 and Territorial Force Efficiency Medal (Army Order 380 of October 1919, refers).
