East and West Africa 1887-1900, 1 clasp, Gambia 1894 (W. Thompson, A.B. H.M.S. Raleigh.), light contact marks otherwise very fine

William Arthur Thompson was born at Dover, Kent on 22 September 1874. He enlisted into the Royal Navy on 16 October 1889 and served aboard Raleigh between 28 July 1891 - 23 February 1895. Thompson saw service on Galatea between 4 March 1896 - 7 February 1897, Royal Arthur 8 February 1897 - 31 March 1897 and Mildura from 1 April 1897- 13 June 1900. Thompson died at the Royal Navy Hospital, Plymouth, Devon on 27 September 1900.
