Khedive's Star 1882 (4) (232 Qr Mr Sergt J Lowry; 1761 Sergt C W Venn 2 Derby R.; 1616 Pte T Quinn 2 Derby R; 2603 Pte W Queenby 2 Derby R.), very fine (4)

Joseph Lowry served in the Egyptian campaign with the 2nd Derbyshire Regiment. He served with the Royal Defence Corps in the Great War between 3 February 1915 - 29 September 1917 and was discharged as being no longer physically fit for further service and died on 23 February 1919 and is buried at Cardiff (Cathays) Cemetery.

Charles William Venn was born at St.Cuthbert, Wells, Somerset and enlisted at Derby on 7 April 1879. He served at Gibraltar between 28 December 1881 - 13 August 1882 and then served in Egypt 14 August 1882 - 13 October 1882. Venn then served at Malta from 14 October 1882 - 20 November 1889 before returning Home on 21 November 1889 and completed his service on 7 April 1891. During his service he had reached the rank of Sergeant but was arrested and subsequently Tried and reduced to the rank of Private.

Thomas Quinn was born at Chesterfield, Derbyshire and enlisted into the 95th Regiment of Foot on 31 July 1878. He served in Gibraltar 28 December 1881 - 13 August 1882 before serving in Egypt 14 August 1882 - 13 October 1882. Quinn then served in India 14 October 1882 - 28 November 1884 before spending the rest of his service at Home until he was discharged as Time Expired on 1 August 1896.

William Queenby was born at Shepshed, Loughborough, he had previously served with the Leicestershire Militia before joining the Derbyshire Regiment on 30 April 1881. He served at Gibraltar from 28 December 1881 - 13 August 1882, Queenby then served at Egypt 14 August 1882 - 13 October 1882 and then served at India from 14 October 1882 - 24 November 1887 before returning Home on 25 November 1887 and was finally discharged on 28 April 1893.
