The Indian Mutiny Medal awarded to Sergeant C. Foot, 20th Regiment of Foot (Lancashire Fusiliers), a veteran of the Crimean War and Indian Mutiny who died in service at Benares, India in September 1863

Indian Mutiny 1857-58, 1 clasp, Lucknow (C. Foot, 1st Bn 20th Regt.), edge bruise, very fine

Charles Foot served with the 20th (East Devonshire) Regiment of Foot, he is listed as present at Montreal in 1851 before seeing service in the Crimea (Medal and four clasps). Returning to Britain he was at Chichester on 24 July 1857 before being posted to India where he was promoted during the Indian Mutiny on 6 December 1858. Stationed at Goruckpore in 1861 he was advanced Sergeant on 5 August 1863, Foot died at Benares, India later that year on 15 September 1863; sold together with copied research.
