A crowd collected but no one dared to intervene as Mohamed Hussein was under the influence of liquor and kept brandishing his knife. On hearing a police whistle, Constable Abdul Gaffoor Khan who was on beat duty in the vicinity went to the spot and without hesitation closed with Mohamed Hussein and, after a struggle, succeeded in disarming him. The constable's action, which saved Haw Khwet's life, was an act of commendable gallantry.'
