Frederick J. Brooks entered the war in France on 8 July 1915 with the 45th Field Ambulance, Royal Army Service Corps. This unit served attached to the 15th (Scottish) Division, with their first major action being at Loos in 1915. Later they were also in action on the Somme, Arras and Passchendaele; sold together with copied service papers.
