William Wilberforce was born in 1898, a native of Withernsea, although it should be noted his Medal Index Card appears to have been named to W Wetherill, although with the same unit and service number. Enlisting on 24 August 1914, he entered the war on 8 May 1915 (Star) and was discharged on 28 May 1919.
