The Second World War campaign group of three awarded to Private H. Strachey-Hawdon, Kenya Regiment

Hugh Strachey-Hawdon was born on 22 January 1919 at Ecclesall in Yorkshire, and journeyed out to Kenya in March 1939 with his profession being noted as 'Farmer' on the Passenger List of the S.S. Madura. Joining the Kenya Regiment (Territorial Force) at Nairobi on 18 September 1939 with regimental number 744, he appears to have served in East Africa for the duration of the war.
Sold together with his original and complete 'Soldier's Service and Pay Book' (this confirming the award of his Campaign medals) and medal award slip; also copied Passenger List extract and entry from 'Europeans in East Africa'.
