Francis Joseph Adams was born at Colac, Victoria on 9 September 1920. A labourer, he attested in the A.M.F. on 30 June 1940 and embodied in the 1st Australian Corps, Provost Company. He embarked for Palestine on 14 September 1940 and after several spells with illness in hospital he left the Middle East on 2 February 1942 and returned to Australia.
Promoted to Lance Corporal he spent the remainder of the war in the Sub.H.Q. Kit stores in Queensland. Promoted to Corporal he was discharged on 26 October 1945. Adams died on 12 August 2000 and is buried at Colac cemetery; sold together with a copy of his service record.
Albert Thomas Blakesley was born at Old, Northampton, England on 12 June 1901 and served in the Great War initially in the Queen's Regiment and later 24th London Regiment. At some point he emigrated to Australia. A chef and baker he enlisted at Royal Park, Victoria on 15 January 1941. He embarked for Singapore on 10 April 1941 and spent most of his time in hospital with various illnesses and was sent to Colombo to recover on 15 January 1942. He left Colombo on the 'Stirling Castle' on 13 March 1942 and was discharged at Melbourne on 6 June 1942, medically unfit for further service.
Blakesley died on 24 February 1963 at Pasadena, Mitcham City, South Australia; sold together with copied research.
