William Gerald Floyd was the son of James and Winifred Floyd of Redruth, Cornwall. Having served with the D.C.L.I., he joined No. 3 Commando and was wounded in action at Operation Jubilee - the Dieppe Raid - on 19 August 1942. Floyd was killed in action during the Termoli Raid. He is buried in the Sangro River War Cemetery and commemorated upon the Redruth Memorial.
