M.I.D. London Gazette 24 August 1944:
'…in recognition of gallant and distinguished services in Italy.'
Edward Thomas Jones served with the Welsh Guards prior to the outbreak of the Second World War. He was serving as a Battery Sergeant-Major with the Royal Artillery on the outbreak of war and was commissioned Lieutenant on 20 June 1940. Further advanced Captain in September 1942 he was finally promoted Major on 8 September 1944; sold together with copied and handwritten research.
