Charles Leslie Spriggs was born on 15 April 1929 at Kew, Victoria, Australia. A ledger keeper and general clerk he enlisted in the Royal Australian Air Force on 9 May 1949 and after initial training at Laverton was posted to the ground radar school in Melbourne. He left for Singapore on 25 April 1958 and was posted to the duty base squadron at Butterworth returning to Australia on 10 May 1960. Awarded the Long Service and Good Conduct Medal on 12 December 1967, he was discharged at Melbourne on 9 May 1969.

Spriggs died on 23 December 1991 at Magnetic Island, Queensland; sold together with extensive copied service records and research.
