(x) British War Medal 1914-20 (2.Lieut. C. W. Bishop.; 10297 Pte. E. J. Ames. Suff. R.), good very fine (2)

Charles William Bishop served as 2876 with the 1st Battalion Cambridgeshire Regiment and first saw service overseas in France on 14 February 1915, he was commissioned on 18 December 1917 and served as a Lieutenant with the Somerset Light Infantry, he later served as Second Lieutenant with the Labour Corps and is entitled to a 1914-15 Star Trio. His medals were sent to 20 New Square, Cambridge.

Ernest James Ames served with 'B' Company, 11th (Service) Battalion, Suffolk Regiment (Cambridgeshire) also known as the Cambridge Pals or Cambs Kitcheners. He was wounded on the First Day of the Battle of the Somme 1916 at Albert, being shot in the groin. Further wounded on 14 August 1916, he latterly served in the Labour Corps (No. 520099).
