(x) Queen's South Africa 1899-1902, no clasp (C. H. F. Robinson, S.S.A., H.M.S. Gibraltar.), good very fine
Charles Herbert Felstone Robinson was born at Portsea, Hampshire on 23 March 1882 and attested with the Royal Navy on 22 March 1922 with the service number 341536. He was serving with Gibraltar as Ship's Steward's Assistant during the Anglo-Boer War between March 1901 until the end of the war. He was posted to Monarch and from thence to the Cape in 1903 but returned to Gibraltar in January 1904 as an Assistant Ship's Steward.
Further advanced Ship's Steward to with Hermione in 1905 Robinson was to serve ashore for the early years of the Great War. Joining H.M.S. Renown on 12 September 1916 he was appointed Chief Petty Officer with her on 28 February 1918 and finished the war with her. He was shore pensioned on 22 March 1922.
