South Africa 1877-79, 1 clasp, 1879 (50/869 Pte S. Miler. 57th Foot.), good very fine
Samuel Miller was born at St. Luke's, London and he enlisted in London on 9 August 1896. Miller saw service in Ceylon, India from 16 October 1877 until 19 February 1879, after which he was stationed in South Africa. Miller returned home from South Africa on 15 December 1879, remaining in England before being posted to the West Indies from 14 August 1880 until 23 May 1883. Miller again returned home on 24 May 1883 and remained there until his discharge at Hounslow on 9 August 1888 as a result of the termination of his first period of limited engagement. Miller later died of tuberculosis on 29 April 1892.
