The Duke & Duchess of Windsor
3rd June 1937 Marriage of the Duke and Duchess of Windsor at the Chateau de Cande, Nice. Formal wedding photo by Cecil Beaton signed by him in red ink on the mount and signed "Wallis", also "Edward" by the former King Edward VIII and dated in the hand of the Duchess. The abdication of the King and his subsequent marriage to the twice divorced Wallis Simpson rocked the British throne. This signed wedding photograph is a great rarity and symbolises the drama of the time (22x16.5cm, on a larger mount), traces of an album page on the reverse.
