1949,1951 Typed letter from Villa Guardamangia, Malta signed by the Duke of Edinburgh's equerry, Michael Parker, acknowledging wedding anniversary wishes, with a further 1951 letter headed "H.M.S. Magpie" on the Duke's birthday. Both letters with envelopes posted from London. A double sided log book entry with a dated 23 JUN 1951 cachet of H.M.S. Magpie is signed "Philip" as Commander of the anti-submarine frigate (September 1950-July 1951). A fascinating group of items relating to naval life before Princess Elizabeth's accession to the throne in February 1952.
