Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh
1951 Autograph letter on Clarence House notepaper with the original registered envelope initialled "P", written by Prince Philip to his former headmaster at Cheam School, Rev HMS Taylor. He refers to a visit to Australia that prevents him from attending an annual dinner, and thanks him for forwarding a copy of the "Chronicle". Prince Philip attended Cheam from 1930-1933. The Royal Visit to Australia scheduled for 1952 was cancelled due to the ill health of King George VI.
