1948 Autograph letter signed "Alice" on notepaper of York House, St. James's Palace, thanking Mrs Gray "for your kindness and hospitality to us on our way to and from Ceylon. We managed to sleep a little on our night journey to N. Africa. The Duke had a very successful operation done on his foot. I hope you have had no more visits from armed robbers in the neighbourhood!" The Duke of Gloucester served as Governor General of Australia 1945-1947. With a pair of signed photographs of the Duke and Duchess, with faults (3)
