Death of King Edward VII
1910 (6 and 8 May) two telegrams from Sir Francis Knollys at Buckingham Palace to the Mayor of Windsor, the first writing "Sincere thanks for telegram deeply regret to say His Majesty's condition is now most critical. Knollys", the second headed "OHMS of last night, Buckingham palace", writing "Queen Alexandra is deeply touched with the kind message you convey to Her and wishes you to convey to the inhabitants of Windsor her grateful thanks for their sympathy. Equerry". Also a printed invitation to admit "Rt. Hon. Austen Chamberlain" (half-brother to Neville Chamberlain) to The Waterloo Chamber for the funeral of King Edward VII. A fine and scarce trio.
