General Sir Dighton Probyn VC
1902-1905 Group of five autograph letters on notepaper of various Royal residences by Sir Dighton Probyn VC, Keeper of the Privy Purse, to "Pollock" regarding travels of Queen Alexandra, a photograph of "our Queen... the most beautiful woman in the whole of your collection"; travel arrangements to Scotland involving a "blunder" (missing a page) and an important letter from Buckingham Palace (1906) mentioning Probyn's garden at Windsor Castle and giving advice as to the availability of a gardener. The "Moat Garden" was created by Probyn, who lived in the Norman Tower from 1901-1922 (5)
