Dr Christopher Dresser (1834-1904)
c1880 Three designs possibly for headed notepaper intended for Dr Dresser, renowned designer and design theorist and a major figure in the Aesthetic Movement. The design printed in raised lettering describes him as "Architect and Ornamentalist, Tower Cressy:Notting Hill" with a dragon fly and insect titled "THE PURSUIT OF BEAUTY". The other two designs are solely of his Notting Hill address, and vey dramatic in style. Numbered 73, these could have been in a printer's sample book, uncommon (11x13cm, 11.5x5.5cm)
