10d. brown, Die 4, mint block of eight (4x2) from the top of the sheet, lightly mounted along the top row, the lower row entirely unmounted mint, outer frame lines touched in just two places, some creasing which results in cracking to two impressions, as is often the case with larger multiples and in no way detracts from the importance and drama of this exhibition piece. B.P.A. Certificate No. 57,204 no longer present. S.G. 57, Spec. £150,000 as two blocks four. Photo.

Notes: One of just two known blocks of eight and the third largest multiple recorded, the other with thin in margin and from the more common Die 3.

B.P.A. Certificate 57,204 reads "GREAT BRITAIN: 1847-54 embossed 10d brown, on "silk" threaded paper, no Wmk, Imperf, Die IV (SG57), top sheet marginal block of eight, unused, with large part original gum, creasing, is genuine."
