I(?), cut into on two sides and touched at tope, cancelled by remarkable, three-lined Dunnet manuscript Maltese Cross in dark brown/black ink and affixed to 1842 (28 May) entire letter from Thurdistoft to Dunfermline, the reverse with "dunnet/s.o.", boxed Thurso 28.05 and Dunfermline 31.05 d.s. Entire with light foxing commensurate with age, otherwise a very rare and characterful usage, Rockoff and Jackson listing only three three-lined covers and one two-lined cover. Photo.
