1797-1820, a range of papers including a typed manuscript from a diary in which is recorded a voyage to Iceland over many hundreds of pages, most likely by James Wright; a correspondence from Sir John Thomas Stanley, his wife Maria Josepha, and M. J. Stanley to various figures including Lord Sheffield, Lord Grey, Lord Stamford, housed in ten box files, six comprising originals, the others typed copies. Originals with various "free" handstamps, mileage marks and other postal markings. Much of the correspondence with reference to the Political matters of the day including many references to Napoleon Bonaparte.
A most interesting group.
